Terms

Last updated Tue 3 Nov 2026

The short version

  • Hosts look after their plans and who gets the link.
  • Your shots stay yours; Lako shows them only to people who are in (and the cover to anyone with the link).
  • Only share what you have the right to share. Anything abusive or illegal comes down.

Using Lako

Lako is run by Hyun Wook Kim, a sole trader in New South Wales, Australia (ABN 25 778 059 003), called “Lako” or “we” here. By signing in or using Lako you agree to these terms and to how we handle data in the privacy policy.

Lako is for making plans with people you know. Use your own name, keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.

Plans and links

Anyone with a plan’s link can see its invite and reply, so the host decides who gets it. Hosts can edit or cancel a plan, delete it with its album, turn the link off or make a new one, remove someone, and delete any shot in their plan’s album.

Lako helps you organise a plan; it doesn’t run it. The host and the people who go are responsible for the plan itself, so take the care you normally would when meeting up.

Your shots

You own what you upload. You give Lako permission to store your shots, make smaller copies of them, and show them to the people who are in on that plan, and to no one else. The one exception is a shot the host picks as the plan’s cover: anyone with the link sees it. This permission is worldwide and free, is only for running Lako, and ends when the shot is deleted.

People who can see an album can save its shots. If you delete your account and choose to keep your shots in plans you joined, they stay there without your name, and this permission carries on for them.

An album is deleted 90 days after its plan ends, unless the host has Lako Plus. If it has shots, everyone who’s in, except anyone we’ve banned, gets an email 14 days before, so there’s time to Save all. If that email is late, the album waits until 14 days after it. If someone’s address refuses it for all 14 days, the album goes without it.

Be decent

Don’t use Lako to share or do anything that:

  • breaks the law, or that you don’t have the right to share;
  • sexualises children, in any way;
  • is sexual or intimate and shared without the consent of the people in it;
  • harasses, threatens, bullies or shows hate towards anyone;
  • is spam, a scam, or malware; or
  • gets around Lako’s limits or security, or copies Lako’s content in bulk.

Lako has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We remove content that breaks these rules, and close the accounts of the people who post it.

Reporting a problem

To report a shot, a person or a plan, use Report next to it in Lako. To ask for something to be taken down (including a copyright complaint), or if you can’t sign in, write to support@lako.sh with the plan’s link and what’s wrong. A person looks at every report within 24 hours. We may remove content, close accounts, and report illegal content to the police or the right authority. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number first.

You can also block anyone you share a plan with: you won’t see their shots (except as a plan’s cover), and they’re removed from plans you host and can’t join them. They aren’t told.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or to protect other people or Lako, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety stops us.

Our liability

We work to keep Lako running and your shots safe, but we can’t promise it will never be down or lose something. Lako keeps no backup copies of shots, so keep your own copies of anything important: Save all in the album downloads every shot at once.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act, or other consumer laws that can’t be excluded. Apart from those, and as far as the law allows: Lako is provided as it is; we aren’t responsible for what people do at plans or post on Lako, or for indirect losses; and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and A$100.

Changes

We may update these terms as Lako changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in Lako or by email before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Lako after that, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer laws.
